Disgraced star Drake Bell ‘separates’ from wife Janet von Schmeling as he ‘enters therapy’

Former child star Drake Bell and his wife, Janet von Schmeling, have separated and are heading for divorce, according to Page six.

The Nickelodeon star, 36, has reportedly started therapy, weeks after he was seen inhaling balloons with their son in the car.

Janet, also an actress, has “had enough” of the outlet’s sourcing, and has moved back to Florida with her son.

The reported breakup and treatment comes while the actor is currently serving a two-year probationary period for child endangerment.

Dailymail.com has reached out to a representative for comment.

An insider revealed to Page Six that he’s entered therapy, more than two weeks after he was shown sucking on a balloon in the front seat of his parked car in Los Angeles — with their son in the backseat.

Drake, known for his roles on Drake & Josh and appearances on The Amanda Show, has reportedly been inflating and deflating a balloon inside his car for more than thirty minutes outside his home.

It is not clear whether there is a substance inside the balloon.

He pulled his sleeping son out of the back seat of the car and drove him into the house.

Drake is seen the next day heading to a local Vape Shop; He left the shop with a bag of stuff and was seen parked under a tree for 15 minutes in his car sucking on a balloon for about 15 minutes.

Then he went to the local Del Taco and then drove home.

They have had some incredible beautiful times before. The insider said he needs to focus on being healthy and they will be co-parents in the future.

“It’s a bad moment in time for Drake. He’s a great dad when he’s healthy and sober,” the source added.

Page Six reported that Janet, 28, moved back to Florida with their son, and moved closer to a home there.

She is said to get support from her family.

Drake and Janet first started dating in 2013 and married five years later in 2018.

Drake is currently serving two years probation for child endangerment for endangering a girl’s well-being when she was just 15-years-old.

Bell was sentenced in July 2021 to two years probation and 200 community hours after pleading guilty to child endangerment charges.

Authorities said a 15-year-old girl who attended one of Bell’s concerts in Cleveland in 2017 contacted Toronto police in October 2018 about being sexually assaulted.

Toronto authorities then forwarded their findings to the Cleveland Police, which triggered an investigation.

They found that Bell and the girl had developed an online relationship before the concert, with Bell sending the girl “inappropriate messages on social media”.

He was later charged with attempted child endangerment because he “breached a duty of care” and created a risk of harm to the victim, Tyler Sinclair, a spokesperson for the Cuyahoga County District Attorney’s Office, explained.

During the default judgment last year, the victim read her impact statement and claimed to have performed oral sex on the star when she was 15 years old.

“These are unforgivable and unforgivable crimes,” she said. They cannot be returned. He was calculating, he took advantage of me and sexually assaulted me. He is a monster and a danger to children.

The victim continued, “I am asking you to kindly send a strong message that these crimes are not okay, no matter who the person is.”

She continued, “And he can give me this look all he wants, but he knows exactly what I’m talking about.”

She said, “He is an example of evil.” I deserve better than to be used for his sick desires, and for my suffering to be used for his amusement. Jared Drake Bell is fond of children and this is his legacy.

He seemed visibly shocked by the accusation, and in response, the victim addressed him directly, saying, “Don’t look at me like that!”

Peel then addressed the court himself, saying, “I just want to say today that I accept this plea because my conduct has been wrong.”

“I took this very seriously,” he added. “I just want to apologize to her and anyone else who may have been affected by my actions.”

The Nickelodeon star pleaded guilty to felony attempted child endangerment and to a misdemeanor count of publishing material harmful to minors just a month earlier.

During his sentencing, his lawyer made sure to note that he had not been charged with crimes more serious than the sexual assault and pedophilia that the victim alleged in the statement of impact.

Months later, Pell attempted to downplay his conviction in a humiliating Instagram video.

“Most of the news I’ve heard lately is completely false and false,” he said.

“I feel you deserve it,” he continued, “and I owe you an explanation.” “I haven’t changed my name.”

“I know this has moved fast for you, but for me, it has been a three-year thorough investigation into every false claim that has been made.”

And I’m not telling you the allegations are false, but the State of Ohio has proven the allegations false.

If these claims were even remotely true, my situation would be very different. I will not be here at home with my wife and son.

He went on to say, “But that being said, I’m not perfect, and I make mistakes.”

“I replied to a fan whose age I didn’t know, but when I found out his age, all conversation and communication stopped.”

This person kept coming to shows and paying for me to meet and greet, all while I didn’t realize this was the same person I was communicating with online, which is what I pleaded guilty to.

Texting was reckless and irresponsible. I want to make it clear that there were no sexual images, nothing physical between me and this person.

He added, “I was not accused of anything physical. I was not accused of posting her pictures or anything like that. This was strictly on top of texting.

And when I was offered a plea deal, because of the letters, I felt that was the best way to get this over quickly, and to enable everyone involved to move on. And to get back to doing what I love, and that is making music for you.

“I want to thank you, um, to everyone who saw the lies and did the research and looked at my case and saw it for what it was instead of all this media confusion.”

He concluded, “Don’t believe the media right away. There is a lot of click-baiting out there. Do your own research and come to your own conclusions. I just want to say thank you to everyone for sticking with me. I love you and I’ll see you soon.”
