A couple got into an argument that ended with the woman stabbing the man in the chest, despite Patel trying to calm the situation. The actor remained with the man until the arrival of the authorities.

The man was taken to hospital during the woman’s arrest and charged with aggravated assault, according to 7NEWS.

“Dev acted according to his natural instinct to try to calm the situation and break up the fight,” a representative for Patel told 7NEWS. “The group was fortunately successful in doing so, and they remained on site to ensure the police, and eventually the ambulance, arrived.”

DiCaprio and his fellow passengers, including his girlfriend Camila Morrone, joined in the effort. The group identified the man who had been trampling the water for 11 hours, and brought him back to safety, according to E! News.

The man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for a psychiatric evaluation.
