Georgia football schedule 2022: dates, times, TV channels, results

Georgia enters the 2022 college football season as the defending national champions, winning their first College Football Playoff in a upset over Alabama’s No. 1 last season. The Bulldogs had previously reached the CFP Championship once before, losing to Crimson Tide in a upset to conclude the 2017 season.

As part of its CFP title defense, Georgia will only be seeking to claim its second Southeast Conference Championship in the last 17 years (2017). The Bulldogs will need their offensive leaders to continue where they left off last season, and some strong defensive returnees to fill several big roles.

Here’s the full schedule for Georgia football for 2022, including opponents and players to watch.

The main returning players

The Bulldogs have lost many of their top offensive players, such as wide receiver Jermaine Burton via the move to Alabama as well as key backs James Cook and Zamir White through the NFL Draft. However, Georgia will see the return of some of the main offensive leaders, including the quarterback Stetson Bennett, who proved that he could get the job done as a starter during last season’s championship. The soon-to-be top-ranked player ranked third in the SEC in yards per attempt (10), while earning the fourth-highest touchdown (29) and fourth-best quarterback rating (176.7). Bennett will also look to lean heavily on the narrow end Brock Powers Again. The Powers led the Bulldogs in receptions (56), received yards (882) and received touchdowns (13) last season.

Georgia has also seen several key departures in defence, including corner back Derion Kendrick and linebacker Nakobi Dean. As a result, the returning like linebacker Nolan Smithdefensive line Galen Cartercorner Kelly Ringo and safety Christopher Smith He will be asked to take on more responsibilities this season.

Christopher Smith and Ringo will be tasked with leading the high school. Among the returnees, they ranked second and third in last season’s interceptions with three and two, respectively. They each had 34 matches last season as well, finishing 15th on the team.

Meanwhile, Nolan Smith, who was fifth in most sacks with the Bulldogs in 2021 (56, most among returnees) and third most sacks (4.0), will be counted on to help lead the seven Georgians. Carter should also play a key role up front as his 37 tackles and 3.0 sacks last year stand among the Bulldogs’ top defensive returners.
