Virtual meetings have grown more and more in the past few years. These calls, often consisting of audio and video, help to communicate at a time when many organizations have both on-site and remote employees. Microsoft Teams is among the most popular tools used in everyday calls in many organizations.
The ultimate goal of services like Microsoft Teams is to make meeting possible no matter where you are or what you’re doing, which means there are multiple ways to join and a variety of devices you can use. A friend or colleague can add you to a Teams meeting whether or not you have a Microsoft account. When you are invited, you will receive an email with a link to the call.
Step 1: Click the link in the email to begin the process of joining the call.
Step 2: Depending on the device you are using, you will be taken to a screen where you can choose how you want to join. Options include downloading a desktop app for macOS or windowsOr with the Teams app, or continue in your browser.

Step 3: Whichever method you choose, the next screen will start connecting you to the call. To continue, you may need to update some permissions to give Teams access to your camera and microphone.
The fourth step: Once you’ve given permission, you’ll be able to modify your audio and video settings before joining the call. If you have multiple microphones and cameras, you can choose which microphones and cameras you want to use.
Once you enter your name and click join now button, your request to join the call will be sent to the organizer for confirmation, and you will be accepted.
If you don’t want to join the meeting on the same device you opened your email on, you can enter the meeting ID and passcode on any device you want.
You only need to access Microsoft Teams website and enter your ID and code. You will then be asked to choose how to join and edit settings before entering the meeting.
If you have a Microsoft Teams mobile app or desktop app, there are a number of ways to join a call.
First, when the organizer invites you, you will receive a notification that you can accept to enter the meeting.
You can also join an existing scheduled call from Calendar tab In the Teams app. Simply click on the Join button and a new window will open allowing you to adjust your audio and video settings before entering the meeting.
Each meeting has its own chat that you can access by clicking the arrow buttons to expand the window and clicking the chat tab. When the meeting has already started, you will be able to click “join” Button and enter a call directly from the chat tab.
If you don’t have a reliable internet connection or the right device to join a video call, you can also listen to the audio of the meeting with your phone. The invitation email will have a call option listed along with the number you can call. Simply dial the number and join, although additional fees may apply, so check with your phone provider before doing so.
