Katie Offerman makes her debut in Grand Ole Opry: Pictures

Coming out on stage to check out the sound made it all sound real. I wasn’t nervous after that honestly. Probably because it felt like home – the home of my music! I’d spend a few nights a week coming back to the Aubrey and hanging out, watching some of my heroes and also new artists make their debut. I had hoped and prayed one day that I would get a chance to get into the ring. This night was a complete moment for me that I will never forget.

It might be a girl, but getting ready backstage in the locker room for the first time was the best treat! I’ve never done my makeup, but Opry was reason enough. My talented friend Ginger Sharp came out and got me everything! She can make you go from feeling average to a million bucks! I really felt special and loved. I was also surprised and sent the most beautiful flowers from my team and my husband! I am a lucky girl.

My husband Colby is my biggest supporter in the world! Rarely miss the show. This was a beautiful moment for us to share together. Couldn’t do it without him!

It might have been the 10 heels I bought at the last minute from Amazon, but I felt like I was on top of the world that night! Just walking the aisles behind the scenes was a surreal feeling. Loved looking at all the dressing rooms – it’s all uniquely and wonderfully fixed! Nothing beats backstage at the Aubrey. Oh, and did I mention they have the best tea and lemonade? You can make better Arnold Palmer.

Perhaps one of the most important parts of the night was having two of my friends and favorite songwriters/musicians by my side – Ryan Beaver (right) and Joe Clemons (left). They took me under their wing when I moved to town and basically taught me how to write a good song. They have been by my side through it all and I wouldn’t be where I am now without them. I wouldn’t want anyone else to be by my side at this moment.

I’m sure a lot of people say this – but I feel like I have the best family in the world! The love and support of my parents for me and my music is unconditional. They’ve been pushing me all over the country since I was 11 playing polka dances, ballrooms, weddings, funerals, bars, you name it! The fact that they made an effort to come to my shows all these subsequent years meant the world to me – they drove a 15 hour drive with three Chihuahuas just to be in my Opry with me! Terry, Colby’s mother also flew from Iowa. She is my biggest cheerleader! I am really very grateful that she is my mother-in-law. Family is everything! I am grateful that we will all be together to celebrate this moment in my career.

It felt surreal hanging in my locker room – looking at the walls of quotes from artists I’ve looked at my whole life who have stood in the same room. It’s hard to describe the feeling.

Shortly before I got on stage, I spent a few minutes on my own warming up on the violin and enjoying the moment. And try to breathe deeply to help my butterflies!!

What a night! Lots of people from my team came to support me. And look how many girls there are! I am so grateful to work with these amazing people and appreciate everything they do to help me realize this crazy dream of mine!

The violin has always been a big part of my life. My grandfather was the reason I started playing the violin – he gave it to me the first time. It’s been opened about every door in my life, and while I don’t play it as much as I used to, I always make sure it stays in my music and what I’m doing. It makes me different, and I love it. When I heard I was going to play The Opry, I knew I had to bring my perfection. So we changed the single “Don’t Do It in Texas” to create a violin solo! It just has to be! The more messing around the better!

Twenty-eight years of my life up to this point. And after 10 minutes of walking on stage, it was done. Just like this! I did – I made my first appearance on Opry. I’ll never forget Charlie calling me outside and walking in the sacred circle, lights shining on me, seeing the smile of the crowd, having my best friends on stage with me, playing the songs I love, doing what I love, and having this crazy dream. my job. This was an unforgettable night! Thank you Grand Ole Opry!
