After weeks of anticipation, touching Kristen Brown’s big day arrives on the final episode of “Sister Wives.”
In last week’s episode, it was The father of 18 years slammed at Christine in front of his other wives when she tells him she plans to move to Utah in a week. Cody stood up and yelled, likening Kristen’s departure to a “knife in the kidney”, and accused her of treating the other family members like “bullshit”.
Both Janelle and Kristen were surprised by the way he acted, “I was a little shocked by Cody’s behavior. He was just angry,” Janelle says in the confession.
Sitting down with Janelle, Kristen says it was a “terrible conversation” and says she thought it “would go better.”
The scene then shifts to a confession with Christine. “I was deeply shocked by his aggression,” she says.
Back in the meeting with Janelle, Kristen admits that she expected people to be hurt when she left, but she didn’t expect Cody to be “volatile” and didn’t know how to react to his anger.
Janelle tells Kristen that Cody seems to have suppressed his emotions up until that point. She explains her feelings in a confession.
“It surprised me because he was so loud and he was so angry,” she says. “The timing seemed strange but I think it just reached a boiling point.”
Then Janelle tells Kristen that she’s not sure how to navigate the new dynamic once she’s gone.
“I don’t know how to not be on one side or be seen as being on one side,” she says. She continues her thought in confession, “I’m damned if I do, and damned if I don’t. I can’t choose a side without them saying, ‘I chose a side!'” “
Meanwhile, Christine told her friend and sister-in-law that “nobody should lean to the other side.” It’s a sentiment Cody echoes as he and Robyn reunite with Mykelti, his daughter Christine with Christine.
He tells his daughter, “I don’t want people to choose sides. I don’t want to push you to take sides or anything like that.”
Kristen hasn’t planned on hosting an official farewell party with her extended family, but Mykelti thinks it’s important, so Cody and Robyn visit Kristen’s house with their kids later in the episode. Janelle and some of her children are there too, but Meri is not since she moved out of town.
The farewell is visibly tense, with everyone standing in their respective corners outside and several family members commenting on how uncomfortable they feel about their confessions.
“I’m not in a good place here… This is a very embarrassing moment,” Cody says in his own interview, adding that he feels “offended” to watch his wife walk away.
Mykelti, who organized the meeting, even admitted that you can cut the tension with a knife.
“It’s awkward outside. It’s weird, it’s intense. Nobody really wants to be here,” she says in a confession.
However, Mykelti tries to encourage the group to stay positive and reminds them that they are still family.
“There’s no one to blame for any of this. It’s just everything, it is the way it is. And we should all be grateful that even through this we can still be a family and that we can support each other through it all,” says the 26-year-old. years.
Cody says he doesn’t feel like family.
“I’m in this kind of weird place where I’m thinking I never want to see Kristen again,” he says. “I don’t want to think about her. I don’t want to go past this house again and grieve over this.”
He continues: “I don’t want to sit back and be in this place again. I don’t want to deal with this at all.”
After everyone said their goodbyes, Janelle walked over to Kristen for a hug and the mother-of-six broke down in tears. In a confession, Christine explains her emotional reaction.
“I wasn’t going to ask for this[goodbye],” she says. “I definitely didn’t need it. It’s worse than I thought it was going to be. I think that was the worst goodbye I’ve ever seen.”
