Miraz Ahmed, who is based in Barguna, Parishal, is an independent event organizer. He was actively looking for a second job until he found Inkam on Facebook.

Inkam is an exclusive distributor of digital products and services that has brought promising digital products (educational videos, skill development courses, health services, etc.) to the market. The platform allows its users to distribute these products on sales commissions.

“Inkam’s terms and policies are easy to understand and agree. So I registered myself on the same day and became an agent of Inkam,” Miraz said.

In Inkam, every agent/affiliate who gets commission for marketing someone else’s or other company’s products is known as a “Digital Uddokta” (Digital Entrepreneur).

“All we have to do is get new clients for the services [of different companies] They sell it on this platform. For example, if I am tasked with selling digital course materials, I keep looking for potential clients around me. When they agree to buy the course, I send them the link to me where they can buy,” Mraz explained, adding, “With every purchase made, I get a 10%-15% commission in my account. “

Miraz now earns 2,000 to 2,500 taka in any given week. He also leads the Digital Uddokta team in Barishal.

As the world is going digital and the informal economy of Bangladesh is growing exponentially. Inkam saw an opportunity to combine the two to create a service that benefits everyone in the ecosystem.

Inkam is open to business for any individual (who can act as an agent) or platform (who can act as a collaborator or partner). For example, Go Global is an international platform for admission and visa processing. They also provide career advice to students traveling abroad for higher education.

Imtiaz Benhabib, Assistant Director of Business Development at Go Global, explained how their sales increased after affiliation with Inkam.

“Professional consulting is our popular service. Previously, we only did marketing through Facebook and Google ads. Sure, these ads gave us a great deal of reach, but not even 1% of those people made it to the real client list. On the other hand, The access we get through Inkam agents is almost 100% efficient, which gives us good business,” Imtiaz told Business Standard.

If Inkam remains consistent with its growth, Franchise plans to invest the lion’s share of its company’s marketing expenses in Inkam in the coming years.

The void in the digital infrastructure

Research by Statistica.com reveals that advertising spend in the digital advertising market in Bangladesh is expected to reach $305 million this year. Companies spend over Rs 1,000 crore each year on digital marketing only on Facebook and Google to reach their target audience.

“All of this money is our money and our people’s money. It is sad how we have to donate it to global technology giants for marketing. Realizing this, we wanted to create a platform that enables effective digital advertising and will distribute the funds,” said Ferozuddin Ahmed, COO, Encam. in the country”.

Besides, with the increasing demand for digital products and the transformation of the population online, there is an absence of infrastructure for digital distribution of digital products.

“We have a large number of reselling platforms for physical products (Daraz, Amazon, eBay, etc.), but the digital distribution market is still untapped,” Firoz explained.

“Through Inkam, we are not only accelerating access to digital products among the masses, but also creating income opportunities for people with limited or no earnings,” said Khaled Hussain, co-founder of Inkam.
