Next, she and Gutierrez got to the slingshot challenge, where they each had to hit a target twice. However, she struggled to pull the bomber far enough due to her injury. At one point her hand slipped and bounced off the ball, hitting her directly in the face.

I was screaming. I have never felt such pain. It hurt worse than my face. So, we were rushing because of me sitting down and cleaning my finger.”
Since she didn’t want to let her partner down, Kaiser said she was speeding through the barrier — which is what led to the accident.
“I remember seeing it out of the corner of my eye, the slingshot was kind of twisted on one side, I think. I just went to pull the golf ball back and obviously, you see — they caught it all on the creepy camera! — but it literally just came back, and it shook me to my core,” she recalls. Kaiser said she was so scared because she was in Argentina, where she doesn’t speak the language and doesn’t know the area. In addition, she knew how severe the injury was.
“I was like, If I really get brain swelling, I could die. That’s no joke. People die all the time from getting head trauma. It really lucky, in a crazy way, that it hit me right between the eyes. The former “Love Island” star spent two nights in the hospital, but was anxious to go home. She had to go back to the hospital a few days later due to blurred vision due to swelling. While everything is now back to normal, she spent a lot of time worrying that that wouldn’t be the case.
“I’ve been thinking my whole life. I was like, ‘Did I get permanent damage for the rest of my life because of a TV show?’ I just freaked out. What are the chances of me getting seriously injured twice?” It was just a small wound. I mean, I’ve never seen my body ripped off. It was very disturbing.”
While Gutiérrez wanted to continue on his own and volunteered to do double the work, the rules were clear: you live and die by riding or you die. So, he had to go home. While the end was difficult for both of them, Kaiser hopes to be invited back.
“I was traumatized. As much as I want to be a hard ass, it hurt so much, because we worked so hard. I just got repeated self-loathing that I ruined everything. I felt really bad for a while and wasn’t sure how to heal my face, because the scar that’s there On my forehead it was really bad. I thought I would never look the same again. I was struggling with not being able to look like myself,” she said. “Every time I looked in the mirror, it was like a memory of what had happened to me. I’m not trying to be dramatic about it because it’s not that serious but in the same sense, because it’s not something anyone can prepare for.”
Kaiser continued, “I’m definitely scared because it goes to show that as much as they put in safety precautions, you never know. Terrible accidents happen. But fear never held me back. If I had the chance, I would definitely go back. I want to go back to redeem myself and everyone who supported me.”
