The $175 million investment announced in March included wage increases, seasonal front-line leadership development, new retail employee discounts, investment in new affordable housing, and increased human resource support. Plus, last week I shared the extended healthcare benefits of reproductive healthcare.

Today I am pleased to share with you a new mental health program.

Mental health is an important part of our overall health and wellness. One in five adults across North America has a mental illness – the number of adults with symptoms of anxiety and depression has nearly quadrupled since 2019². A survey by the American Psychological Association found that stress is at an all-time high, with 87% of adults feeling an uninterrupted stream of crises over the past two years. On average, people wait 11 years to get treatment for mental health problems³.

The new investment in mental health is available to all team members, regardless of whether or not you are enrolled in our healthcare plan, effective August 1, 2022.

Free treatment for you

All team members are guaranteed access to six free and confidential sessions each year. Six treatments can cost up to $1,200 – and that’s freely available to you.

Complimentary treatment for roommates and dependents

In addition to six free, confidential treatments for you each year, Vail Resorts will provide six complimentary treatments to your roommates and dependents.

New treatment options

You will now have options for treatment including: in-person therapy, phone, video or text. You will be able to participate in the online treatment process which makes it easier and faster to match with a provider that meets your needs. This means that you can now immediately contact a therapist without having to speak with a person first to set up an appointment.

Expanded new medical network

You will now be able to match up with a professional who specializes in working with specific demographics and presentations. Qualified therapists focused on LGBTQ+, BIPOC, first responders, and others are available, as well as therapists who specifically help treat anxiety, depression, or parenting.

The new exclusive Mindfulness App for you

You’ll get exclusive access to unlimited mindfulness resources including live and virtual sessions, on-demand content, and immersive programming on a range of topics, from anxiety to sleep to driving. Mindfulness can help us all build skills for everyday living to create a deeper connection with ourselves and others with a greater sense of purpose for the world around us.

New professional health training for you

You’ll be able to use free, confidential coaching to help you proactively achieve your personal health goals. A coach can help you set goals, conduct regular progress checks, and answer questions along the way to achieving the things that matter most to you – including fitness, nutrition, stress, injury recovery, relationships, and more.
